Our 10 favourite money saving apps

After a year of tightening purse strings, we’re all looking for great ways to save money. Lucky for us, there are loads of useful apps out there that can help you save on the things you use every day.

Here are some of our favourites…

Nectar App

It’s not just at Sainsburys that your Nectar Card can make you savings. Earn Nectar points at retailers including Argos, Dominoes and eBay, then spend the points on treats from places like Café Nero. Of course, other brands have great loyalty apps too, but Nectar gives you so much choice. App available on iOS and Android.

Moneybox

Looking after the pennies has never been easier. With Moneybox you can save and invest your spare change by rounding up your everyday purchases to the nearest pound. App available on iOS and Android.

Vouchercloud

Before you buy anything from anywhere, it’s always worth checking whether there’s a voucher to save you some cash on Vouchercloud. From restaurants, to travel, electricals and food – get the best offers straight to your phone. App available on iOS and Android.

Facebook

It may not seem like an obvious choice, but Facebook Marketplace is a great place to find a bargain. There are also loads of community groups that showcase items people want to give away in the local area. App available on iOS and Android.

LatestDeals

AirBnB

Not only has AirBnB revolutionised the way we plan our travel, it has also saved us some serious money, making it easier than ever to find accommodation within budget. Just browse, book and go.

Which?

If we are talking about real consumer champions, we can’t not mention Which? With independent testing and reviews, you’re sure to get your money’s worth from every shop.

Emma

Emma is a money management app that’s soon to be your new best friend. She’ll help you avoid overdrafts, find wasteful subscriptions and give you back control of your finances.

MoneySavingExpert

Not an app but let’s be honest, has anyone done more for our wallets over the past 20 years than Martin Lewis? From household bills to shopping, MoneySavingExpert really is a one-stop-shop for saving money.

Cooking on a bootstrap

OK, so this isn’t an app either, but cookingonabootstrap delivers amazing recipes from award-winning food writer Jack Monroe, that not only taste great, but won’t break the bank either.

So that’s it. Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.
