The best lockdown deals for students
A couple of months ago you were living it up at University – studying hard(?), making the most of the campus’s huge library and trying out cool new software in the computer suite. Lockdown may have put a swift end to that, but now you can still access all the stuff you might have used from home thanks to a few great offers from some top companies.
Adobe Creative Cloud
Want to be able to use all your favourite Adobe programs at home? If you’re a student and your college or university has a Creative Cloud subscription, you could get free access until 31 May 2020. Get your establishment to apply for free home access using this link, your classmates will definitely appreciate it!
Kortext Free Student eTextbook Programme (FSTP)
Kortext are a leading provider of ebooks and etextbooks in the higher education sector. In response to the COVID-19 crisis they’ve set up a programme allowing all UK and Ireland universities and their students to access core textbooks online. Whatever course you’re doing, Kortext has you covered. Ask your university to sign up for FSTP using this link.
Pearson ebook and learning resources
Educational publishing company, Pearson, are offering students a free ebook from their collection until the end of June 2020. Students can also gain free access to online homework and assessment resources and an interactive learning platform until the end of the academic year. If you’re interested, you’ll need to ask your tutor to request access using this link.
Headspace and Spotify
Trying to study in these weird times can take a lot out of you, both physically and mentally. We’ve already mentioned the great content Headspace are offering in ‘Our 10 favourite apps for lockdown’ blog, but if you’re a student the deal is even sweeter! You can get access to Headspace’s full library of content when you take out a Spotify Premium subscription for £4.99 a month.
If Headspace isn’t really your thing and you’d rather just have music to study to, Spotify is also offering a one-month free trial of Premium. After your free month is up you can cancel anytime, although continuing will only cost £4.99 as opposed to the standard £9.99 for non-student membership. Now that’s a good deal!
Down Dog
If exercise is more your thing, Down Dog are offering free access to their fitness apps for all students until 1 July 2020. There are a huge variety of workouts and exercises to choose from, including yoga, barre and HIIT. To get involved, register your school’s domain using this link.
