Get crafty with these upcycling projects

Fancy doing some crafts but don’t have anything to use? Or perhaps you just want to turn old items into something useful? Either way, upcycling is the answer.

Here are some cool things you can do with items that you may have around the home…

Decoupage has you covered, literally

Decoupage is a great way to upcycle pretty much anything – from furniture and lampshades, to frames and mirrors. It involves cutting out paper in the design of your choice (magazines, wallpaper, or even your children’s drawings) and pasting it onto an object, like a collage. Once you’re finished, you can varnish the item to seal in the design. This article by Prima offers a brilliant insight into getting started with decoupage.
